Wordpress Blog Generator - Create Custom WP Blogs
I must admit I am an Active Rain "Junkie" that really like the platform here and the "Google Juice!" I really could not do better than Active Rain, but there are certain limitations that I would love to explore other ideas and move beyond.
As far as my background, I sell real estate from the web. I've been very successful over the years, and want to expand my scope of coverage. I've been generating websites for over 13 years now and never looked into creating a stand alone Blog or a sub-domain blog. I really like the possibilities of a sub-domain Blog because as a component of the primary domain there can be a lift in web position and SEO.
Last night I started playing around with a few of the domains I currently host, and checked out my options. Several hosting companies use a Cpanel that will allow you to easily upload WordPress via Fantastico! Once WP is loaded you can change features, customize or change templates. It even keeps all your data before making the change. I love that feature that really does not exist in web building via html. Another item I found was a site that allowed me to create a customized Blog for free, and download the package. The price is also right! It is totally free!

Although you stumbled upon a free wordpress blog generator, stick with a dedicated professional for the same reason that the general public needs a Realtor. I can attest to the breakdown on the quality of the overall conceptual theme and continuity as you begin to add more components to wordpress. Good luck on your adventure beyond ActiveRain.
James K Barath, CMPS - Northwest Indiana Mortgage Planner - Benchmark Mortgage (HUD Approved Lender: 219-926-1600) Thank you for your advice.
This is great! I really wanted to create a magazine-style blog, so I'm going to see if this tool might do the trick.
Jim, you are so more advanced than I, but I'll give it a try and see how it works.
Jim: Thank you very much. I subscribe to your blog because I can always count on you for domething new and interesting. I am currently paying for a blog, http://blog.lloydmckenzie.com but my son has setup a new blog for me on one of my previous domains: www.Lloydsofabq.com/admin-wp. It is free, but not fully operational
Jim, I'll check it out. I've just begun my new WP blog hosted with Bluehost...So far so good.
Jim, Thanks for the information. I will check it out. Happy Holidays.
I've already got a wordpress blog that links from my website. I started it before I began my blog on Active Rain. Usually I mirror the content on the two blogs, except for Members Only Posts. I like how Active Rain links up with Localism so I don't post as many local interest blogs on my WP blog. Although I sometimes find I am suffering from Blog overload.
Jim...We use wordpress on selleygroup.com, and my husband uses it for his living with chronic pain and spiritual healing website, www.gordonselley.com... It works great!
KERRY LUCASSE - Your Intown Atlanta Real Estate Consultant (Keller Williams Peachtree Rd) I really liked it. I created a Blog last night and I customized it with this generator!
Kay Van Kampen, CDPE, Broker, Springfield Missouri Real Estate (RE/MAX Solutions) I created a custom header and was able to use it with this Blog! I really like it.
C Lloyd McKenzie, MBA, e-PRO, CDPE (ALLSTAR REALTY, LLC) It was a very easy todo whit the company I host with. I use www.highspeedweb.net I published it as a subdomain...so there is no extra fees!!! I love that!
**Mesa, Arizona Real Estate** Teri Ellis, Broker (Homes Arizona Real Estate LLC) Love your new photo! I thinnk some custom touches are a good thing! I am already up and running!
GITA BANTWAL, REALTOR BUCKS COUNTY, PA HOMES (ReMax Centre Realtors) Thanks Gita, I hope you like it! Happy Holidays to you too!
Christa Ross (RE/MAX Select Realty, Ecosociate and RE/MAX Green Specialist) The exact same content is never good. Mix it up a bit.
Stand alone wordpress platform blogs are a cinch and work well to integrate with all your other sites. Use different approach to each blog you tend.. like a blog garden with different niches, purposes, results. Another Jim Crawford Blue Ribbon Real Estate post.
Thanks Jim, this is excellent!
Jim, I've poked around on wordpress but have not gone too far with it. Short on time! Maybe over the cold, cold winter. :-> Great tips.
Andrew Mooers | Northern Maine Real Estate / Aroostook County Broker (MOOERS REALTY) Andrew...I like the free price, and the potential fo more business. I have lots of time this time of year to develop ideas that may bring more income into the business via SEO. I hope things are well in Northern Maine real estate!
Valerie Almanzar, CDPE (RE/MAX) Glad you enjoyed!
Kathryn Acciari - CDPE - REALTOR® - Sturbridge Massachusetts Real Estate (RE/MAX Professional Associates) Business is slow right now, and I decided to complete the project. It was easier than I thought.
Thanks Jim...is this Wordpress.org? Looks cool. Maybe I'll set up another blog? ;-)
**Mesa, Arizona Real Estate** Teri Ellis, Broker (Homes Arizona Real Estate LLC) Yes it is Wordpress.org
I just had a Word Press blog set up as a sub domain of my website and used a company called Dakno (www.Dakno.com). It was worth every penny and it is prefectly intergrated with the website, by design.
Douglas Fischer (RE/MAX Honolulu - Selling Honolulu, Hawaii Condos) Danko is the best in the business! You are in good hands!
Jim, If you endorse this I will check it out. You are a blogging God!
Tina Maraj Fullerton Realtor (RE/MAX North Orange County) LOL! I wouldn't go that far! I will post a follow up Blog about it later this week!
I love my WordPRess blogs. SimpleScripts is another option for installing a WP blog from the CPanel. There are also an amazing number of free themes... and premium themes that aren't terribly expensive. The best thing is that many of them can be tweaked...
Lane Bailey - REALTOR & Car Guy (Diamond Dwellings Realty) Lane, I have so many projects going on right now that I have not finished the Blog. I wish I could clone myself...but it installed in just a few moments. The one I hosted with Godaddy was a pain in the butt installing. Where I host my other sites they installed in less than 5 minutes.
On BlueHost I can load up a blog and set the domain server (domain hosted by GoDaddy) in just a couple of minutes... It is so easy. Muchbetter than the old way of having to upload and unzip and all of that junk.
Lane Bailey - REALTOR & Car Guy (Diamond Dwellings Realty) I can do that on 2 of my hosting sites, but on Godaddy it is a lot more convoluted. I had the Blo set up in under 5 minutes on the the hosting sites. I also use highspeedweb.net and your-site.com. BlueHost looks a little more expensive.
Thanks for the info Jim, I too have been using wordpress blog lately. I have liked it so far. Certainly worth the price!!
Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas!
Thanks for the info. I just signed up for Wordpress today because of website development and will take this one day at a time.
Kim Curran (RE/MAX Unlimited of Northern Virginia) I now have a few of the Blogs posted and I really like it. It is so easy.
Tom Hall (Allied Inc., Realtors Oklahoma City 405-812-4886) Tom, this is WordPress.Org this is not the .com
This is going to be interesting to try. Thanks for sharing
Kate Bourland Empowering America to Live Debt Free (Financial Solutions Inc.) I must admit I've set them up but have not had a lot of time to fill them out.
Wordpress is incredibly rich and easy to to create. I love the plugins, SEO built right in but great to use All in One SEO plugin. The widget use in a theme that supports them is also very functional. My website/blog is a hybrid that I've worked on over time and am working extensively on fleshing out. A lot I can do myself but there are good programmers who are not a lot per hour who can start getting a higher degree of professional look. Though if you search for real estate themes you'll see there are many that are really good already.
Usually with Cpanel it's darned easy to get anything you need loaded on the host and as you noted it's a breeze to add more and more subdomains. I'm totally a raving fan!
Bethesda Real Estate ~ Bethesda Homes for Sale (Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc.) They take a lot less time to put together than a good website. I love them, the problem is I do not have enough hours in my day.
