What's Taking Place in Your Market...YADA YADA?

It has been said that in the Atlanta real estate market, September and October are great times to take a good cruise or a vacation.  I must say that I agree!  The phones do not ring too much once the kiddies are back in school.  This year in Atlanta seems no different.  The summer was kind of a disappointment.  We started out with a bang for May and June and then July fizzled as the interest rates went higher.  In August "Cash for clunkers" seemed to pull whatever excess cash was in the market...and took it in another direction.  Personally I was hoping that once children were back in school the market here would have picked up.  It didn't.  It is very quiet except for phone calls looking for $5000 homes that buyers will tell you they do not have the money.  All and all, we cannot complain, we earned more than last year already and that is a good thing.  There is a mixed bag of news to report.  Yes inventory is way down, but so are sales.  The otehr problem is that if you are working buyers, inventory is trashed.  Unemployment in Georig and especially Atlanta is over 10%.  The impact of the sluggish economy is clearly evident by the closings of local restaurants can be easily noticed all around town.  I am not so sure I agree with the Administration or Bernake that the recession is over!  What's taking place in your market right now?  I think I am going to take a few days off!

Duluth GA City Tour - Duluth GA New City Center - Visual Tour and Photos | Duluth GA Photos and Tour

A few weeks ago I took some photos and a visual tour panorama of the new Duluth GA City Center.  I purposely took these photos and tour of Duluth GA to add to my Duluth GA homes for sale web page. They have just about finished the downtown Duluth City Hall project, and it's stunning.  It is hard to beleive all the work that's been accomplished in the last few years.  We have a new city hall, a sfestical center, a park and so much more. The Historic City of Duluth GA has been reborn with this magnificent project.  There is a new City Hall, shops, and a lovely promenade for walking and strolling in downtown Duluth GA.  Enjoy the tour of Duluth GA!

Duluth GA Rememberence Ceremony Marking the September 11th Attack

Remembering September 11, 2001In memory of September 11th.

The city of Duluth GA is a leader is strong country pride.  Anyone local to the Duluth area can attest to that.  Each memorial Day the names of fallen Duluth GA citizens that served our country and gave their final offering with their lives are remembered on flags, crosses and posts on all the main roads of the city of Duluth GA.  This year is no difference in marking the anniversary of September 11, 2001. It is an extremely patriotic gesture.  This year for September 11th it is no different. The Duluth clock tower bells will toll at the time each plane crashed on that terrible day in 2001 (8:46 am, 9:03 am, 9:45 am and 10:10 am). The City of Duluth Georgia's Mayor Pro Tem, Jim Dugan, along with a police officer and fireman, will place a wreath at the top of the Town Green in front of the flags displayed in remembrance of the attack on our country at 11:00 am, Friday, September 11th. No ceremony will follow.

Duluth GA Summer Fun | Cooling Off In Historic Duluth GA at City Hall

Duluth GA was a great place to cool yourself off on a beautiful summer day today.  Ellen and I went out for a ride after lunch and wanted to take some photos around town.  Our first stop was the New City Hall in Duluth GA where the entire landscape of historic Duluth meets a new city center complete with a new city hall, a plaza, down town shopping, an festival center, and a great looking city center park complete with a water fountain that local children had a great time staying cool as moms and dads were nearby watching!  It was a perfect day for fun for all!  The weather in Duluth GA was perfect!
