In all the years I've been in Atlanta real estate business, nothing amazes me more that many Atlanta real estate agents that do not know their market. You cannot help but wonder...'How do they make a living?' They know nothing of current local price trends, how many homes are for sale, what's expired, the number of agents in the business, what's hot and whats not, contract changes and more. The first clue is that when you are having a conversation...they look like a deer in headlights when you mention something. Their eyes gloss over and the next thing is they say, "Since when?" "Oh since about 3 years ago!" You cannot help but wonder what rock they crawled out under.
Knowledge is what makes our careers profitable and affords us longevity and staying power. This is not office trivia I'm talking about. Rather this is about substance with topics such as price trends, foreclosure inventory, recent home sales, inventory levels, months supply of inventory, and contract changes. Pertinent information should top most agents priorities list for personal knowledge that would make them a better professionals so they can better serve the public and themselves better.
